CSIRTAmericas Network acts as the main promoter of the Cybersecurity Program against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) in strengthening incident response capabilities of the CSIRTs in the region.

The Cybersecurity Program‘s regional efforts are multifaceted and focus on:

   I. Policy development: The Program helps OAS Member States develop national cybersecurity strategies that involve all relevant stakeholders and adapt to the legislative, cultural, economic and structural situation of each Member State.

   II. Capacity Building: The program helps establish national Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT) and provides customized technical assistance and training opportunities to strengthen national institutions and organizations, relying on the CSIRTAmericas network, which provides intelligence on cyber threats and trends in the region.

  III. Research and Outreach: The program develops white papers, tools and reports to guide policy makers, CSIRTs, infrastructure operators, private organizations and civil society, highlighting current developments and identifying key issues and challenges cybersecurity in the region.
